Bedrock Ammolite

This rare Speetoniceras ammonite from Russia is shown still encased in its sedimentary bedrock. Over the millennia the exterior of this ancient spiraling shell has been compressed into ammolite, the rarest and most valuable gemstone on earth. This particular ammolite surface is believed to display every color in the visible light spectrum. This is one of the few remaining original Dorée Nature pieces that used actual wind patterns to create ripples on the surface of the glass. 24K gold 11″ x 14″
