This cross section of ammonite is unusually rich in pattern and detail. Resembling a stained glass window in its original translucent form, this ammonite became an exotic tapestry when backed in gold. This piece was produced with the original Dorée Nature process of allowing the varnish to ripple with the wind as it dries in the sun. 24K gold. 11″ x 14″
